Chocolate Doughnut Mix

• Just add: 1 egg, 1/2 cup oil
• 1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1/2 cup milk with 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or white vinegar)
• Frosting: 2 tbsp. butter, 2-3 tbsp. milk
• Store in a cool, dry place

I received the doughnut maker for Christmas, along with the chocolate mix. I made them this morning and both of my boys (and myself) agree that they are very dry. The frosting is also nothing great. Think I'll be looking for another recipe.

I made these doughnuts recently to rave reviews. They are dense and moist as a cake donut should be and have a rich chocolate flavor. My husband said they were like the bakery donuts we got as kids but best part is they're baked, not fried, so we get great donuts and no "muffin top" ! We Love them !!
