Charitable Giving

Contributing to our local community is an integral part of the culture of Stonewall Kitchen. We would not be here today if it were not for the support we received from that first farmers' market community in Portsmouth, NH. We value the town of York, Maine, where our headquarters are located, and the surrounding seacoast area, which has been supportive of our business from the start. We also strive to be part of the community in the eight other east coast towns where our retail stores are located.

Our charitable giving generally focuses on serving the needs of, our local communities, children in crisis, cancer prevention, education and prevention of the AIDS virus, as well as environmental commitments.

Through our Cause Marketing efforts we designate a percentage of sales from certain products to various agencies to build-up donations for these organizations and help promote awareness of their worthy causes. Camp Sunshine, Share Our Strength, ARS and the Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Maine, NHSPCA, and the NH Food Bank have received large contributions from Stonewall Kitchen due to the sales of our various gift collections, namely our Down East Breakfast, Our Savory Gift Basket, Blueberry Breakfast Gift. Our commitment to the environment has been recognized in part with our donation to the Nature Conservancy of Maine and other environmental programs. With an interest in the education and prevention of the spread of HIV and AIDS, the company donates services, goods and funding to local and national agencies involved with this cause.

Stonewall Kitchen is also pleased to contribute, as a member of the York, Maine community. Our programs range from, offering jobs to high school age children, job shadowing opportunities, hosting field trips and providing donations to local school's fund raising projects. In addition, a Stonewall Kitchen Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $2,000 each year to a senior from York High School who will pursue food industry related studies.

Additionally, every month Stonewall Kitchen contributes dozens of product donations to various charitable organizations. We substantially support three local food pantries with food donations and contribute to the local Fire and Ambulance departments. Our annual, staff-run summertime Community Pancake Breakfast at our York facility donates 100% of the proceeds to local non-profit organizations as well.

We welcome the opportunity to contribute to your organization but please keep in mind the following requirements regarding our Charitable Giving capabilities.
