The Dishwasher is responsible for ensuring that the Café has a consistent , adequate supply of clean pots, pans, silverware, etc. as needed as well as for the cleanliness of the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Clean pots, pans, silverware, glassware, plates and kitchen equipment
- Assure dish area is supplied with all cleaning supplies (i.e. chemicals, garbage bags and scrubbies)
- Sweep and mop kitchen as necessary
- Maintain all garbage and recycle receptacles, sanitize area around all cans
- Break and remove all boxes and transport to appropriate location for disposal
- Assist in the general cleaning of kitchen equipment , as well as counter tops, stoves, and glass cases
- Assist in the preparation of certain bulk items (i.e. peel carrots, potatoes, onions)
- Restock all plates, glassware, and silver to appropriate locations
- Maintain cleanliness of dish area, as well as pot sinks
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Positive, upbeat, energetic manner with previous café experience a plus
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand several hours a day, and climb ladders
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, on a regular basis
