Network Security Engineer


The Network Security Engineer is responsible for the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of all network infrastructure and cyber security technologies at Stonewall Kitchen. They will work closely with the IT Operations Manager as well as the functional architect (IS Development Team) to ensure adequate security solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Serves as the security Subject Matter Expert (SME) in application development, database design, infrastructure design, and client/server architectures helping project teams comply with policies, industry regulations, and best practices
  • Provides end-user security awareness training to all employees through presentations, documentation, and maintaining an internal blog and reporting portal
  • Serves a lead role on the incident response team and is responsible for the team training, maintenance, and implementation of the corporate incident response plan plan (IRP)
  • Oversees the successful investigation and mitigation of all security threats against Stonewall Kitchen
  • Monitors current and future trends, technology, and information that will positively affect organizational projects; applies and integrates emerging technological trends to new and existing systems architecture
  • Administers, monitors, and designs network infrastructure including switching, routing, LAN, WAN, and remote access
  • Serves as an escalation endpoint for systems support issues, critical or otherwise, as directed by the IT Operations Manager
  • Responsible for the day-to-day review of critical infrastructure devices to detect and mitigate malicious activity
  • Responsible for managing all encryption processes, password management including payment processor password rotation, and SSL certificate management (renewals, implementation, and archiving)
  • Changes device passwords, external service account passwords, domain admin account passwords, etc. on periodic bases in accordance with corporate policy
  • Acts as a technical resource and mentor to other team members
  • May lead and direct the work of others


Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or 7-10 years equivalent experience
  • The ideal candidate will be an engineer, who is a self-starter, with excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in configuration and troubleshooting high-end networks and security appliances
  • Expert understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, routers, and switches. Specifically, Cisco and Fortinet
  • Debugging hardware & software system level problems in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol network environment
  • Expert understanding of OSI Model, TCP/IP protocols, VLANS, VPN, TACAS, RADIUS, IPS/IDS
  • Proficient in IPAM (IP Address Management), routing protocols-RIP V1/V2, OSPF, and BGP
  • Experience on troubleshooting tools like Sniffer, Ethereal, and Wireshark
  • Fortinet, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CISSP certifications will be an added advantage
