Gingered Apple Tart

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry
  • 3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar mixed with 1/4 Tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Stonewall Kitchen Fig & Ginger Jam, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
  2. Line a baking pan with parchment paper
  3. Let puff pastry come to room temperature, if frozen, and then unfold onto baking sheet
  4. Using a fork, prick a one inch border around the edge of the pastry
  5. Prick center of pastry well also
  6. Arrange apple slices on top of pastry in 4 rows, overlapping the slices and leaving the edges clear
  7. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar
  8. Bake for 30 minutes
  9. Remove from the oven and brush with the melted jam
  10. Place back in oven and bake until golden, 5 to 8 minutes longer
  11. Let set at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes before cutting
