Erin Gardner developed her cake decorating skills as a pastry chef in numerous New England kitchens, most notably at Boston’s legendary Locke Ober. From there she headed to New York City where she enrolled in a sugar flower class with famed pastry chef, Ron Ben-Israel. Ironically, Erin would meet Ron again on an episode of his Food Network show, Sweet Genius, of which she won! Brides Magazine featured Erin's shop, Wild Orchid Baking Company in their listing of the 100 best wedding cake makers in the country and featured a cake of hers as one of America’s Prettiest Wedding Cakes. Other magazines that have featured her cakes include, Town & Country, The Knot, Grace Ormonde, American Cake Decorating, and Cake Central. In her first book, Great Cake Decorating, Erin shares valuable insights and useful tips, tricks, and techniques for creating truly delicious and beautiful works of sugar art.
