We have a lot of proud culinary traditions here in New England and one that we consider essential for so many dishes is tartar sauce. A wonderful and traditional blend of mayonnaise and sweet pickle relish most often served here in Maine with golden fried clams. Our Stonewall Kitchen version is perfect with all kinds of fish, a great add-in to tuna salad and also adds fresh, unique flavor to deviled eggs.
Down East Tartar Sauce
7.5 oz.,
Ingredients:
Canola Oil, Dill Relish (cucumbers, water, vinegar, salt, alum, calcium chloride, xanthan gum, natural and artificial flavors, garlic powder, potassium sorbate(preservative), polysorbate 80, tumeric (color).), Whole Salted Eggs (Whole Eggs, Salt), Lemon Juice Concentrate, White Vinegar, Corn Syrup, Mustard Powder, Pepper Sauce (cayenne peppers, vinegar, salt, natural flavor, garlic), Dehydrated Onion, Water, Granulated Onion, Salt, Dried Dill, Natural Flavor and Tocopherols.
I received this as a gift with some other food items. My husband and I both love fish. I have tried other tartar sauces and been disappointed in the past. So we took a deep breath and slathered it on our favorite fried cod.Oh, goodness it was delicious. The best I have had. It gets a gold star !!!
