Nothing says it better than the beautiful sayings of this very special season. Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men, Ho Ho Ho and so many more immediately bring the cheer of the holiday to mind. Try placing some of these lovely sentiments throughout your home to bring a little seasonal spirit to every area.
We purchased five wooden blocks and smaller sized wooden letters at a local craft store. We painted the blocks and the letters with contrasting colors. When the blocks were totally dry we cut pieces of decorative paper about 1/2” smaller than the block all the way around. Scrap booking papers, wrapping paper or wall paper will work well for this. Simply glue the paper on the block, allow this to dry thoroughly and then glue the letter to the paper. A thin piece of ribbon glued all the way around finished the look.
This is a great project for the kids to help out on. Using the computer, print out decorated squares, one for each letter of the phrase you have selected. You can print the letter in each block or trace them from a stencil onto a contrasting colored paper and then cut and glue them onto the original block. Using sewing trims, ribbons or markers decorated each block.
Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to hold all of your letters and leave an extra 18” on each side. Carefully glue or staple each letter onto the ribbon. String your favorite holiday saying on a stair railing, over the fireplace or anywhere your home "needs a little Christmas"!
