Let’s Jam Together! Using Our Most Unique Jams in Uncomplicated Recipes

November 10, 2023 York, Maine

If you’re like me, you enjoy routine in the kitchen. I often cook the same meals week after week, and on the off chance I find a new recipe to try, my kitchen ends up looking like I competed on an episode of Chopped and I have a mismatch of ingredients that don’t get used again. Now, this isn’t to say trying new things isn’t my jam (no pun intended), but I’m no Gordon Ramsey creating five-star meals from scratch.

At Stonewall Kitchen, there are some products that may leave you saying, “what would I do with that?” I’m here to give you those answers! I thought it would be a fun challenge to stock my fridge with some of Stonewall Kitchen’s most unique jams and see what I could make. I went into this with a few things in mind; I wanted simple, flavorful recipes that could be done in realistic amounts of time with minimal ingredients. Let’s dive in!

Apple Jalapeño Appetizer Meatballs

After receiving an invite to a get together at my friend’s house, my first thought was “what am I going to bring?”. My mind immediately went to meatballs with the Apple Jalapeño Jelly; full of flavor and the perfect dish for people to share. Plus, it’s a super simple recipe with only two steps! All you need is 1lb of meatballs (as the great Ina Garten would say, store bought is fine!) and a jar of Stonewall Kitchen’s Apple Jalapeño Jelly. Warm up your pan, add in your meatballs (be sure to thaw them first if frozen), pour in the jam and bam! You have an easy-peasy, full-of-flavor appetizer that your friends are sure to love. Roasted apples and fiery jalapeños come together to make an unbeatable tastebuds experience.

Spicy Chili Bacon Jam Pizza

I’m someone who likes to plan my weekly meals before I go to the grocery store. It helps me feel organized and keeps me from wondering “what am I going to make?” every night after work. When I saw we had rain on the forecast for the weekend, I knew it would be perfect pizza making weather! Cozying up at home and creating your own pizza is an ideal Saturday night in my book. Our Spicy Chili Bacon Jam is the perfect base for a pizza, topped with mozzarella cheese, prosciutto, and fresh arugula; only takes a few minutes to assemble and even less to enjoy! The topping options are endless for build-your-own-pizza night, but this jam is non-negotiable. A little heat, a little savory – you can’t go wrong!

Ghost Pepper Cream Cheese Dip

When it comes to heat levels in food, I’m the person who picks the mildest option every time. So, when I was brainstorming what to make with our Ghost Pepper Jelly, I know I had to combine it with something that would offset a bit of the heat while keeping the flavor. Taking my inspiration from the Pumpkin Shaped Cheeseball recipe, I decided to go with a classic dip with a fiery twist. I used similar base ingredients (cream cheese, Colby cheese, bell pepper and scallion) and added in two spoonsful of the jelly. Combine your ingredients in a bowl, give it a good mix and you’re good to go. I served it alongside our Yellow Tortilla Chips, but any dipping vessel will do. In total, this recipe took me twenty minutes and it made the perfect gameday app that my friends loved!

Peach Amaretto Thumbprint Cookies

I often find myself more attracted to a baking recipe rather than a cooking recipe. With the Peach Amaretto Jam, I knew I had to make something sweet and thumbprint cookies seemed like the perfect choice. Six household ingredients are all you need to create the dough and a dollop of jam to top it off before baking. Butter, eggs, sugar, flour, vanilla, and salt – the holy grail of any baking recipe. I brought these to a movie night and my friends loved them. I will note that mine turned out a bit crumblier than I was hoping but the flavor was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. A recommendation from our recipe developer was to mix the batter a bit more than you would think and that should help prevent them from crumbling once baked through – pro tip!

Bellini Jam Frozen Cocktails

The Bellini Jam is a Company Classic, and after trying it for the first time, I can see why! Sweet, ripe peaches combined with sparkling Italian white wine make up this light and flavorful jam. Inspired by a frozen rosé I once had in a restaurant, I kept it simple and mixed a spoonful (or two, depending how sweet you like your drinks) of jam in a blender with the Bellini wine from Trader Joes (a light rosé would work well too for less sweetness), some ice and blended it all together. The consistency was that of an icee, smooth but could be make thicker by adding more ice. It made a refreshing girls night drink and I will absolutely be recreating this again in the summertime!

Maple Bacon Onion Jam Burger

When looking for inspiration on how to use a certain product, I’ve found it helpful to look at the reviews and see what guests are creating with that product. It’s fun to see the variety of ways people use our products. This is exactly what I did for the Maple Bacon Onion Jam and the vote was unanimous; burgers were the top choice! I’ll be honest, I had never cooked burgers before, but I kept it simple, and they came out great. For a medium burger I cooked them in a pan over medium heat, about three and a half minutes each side. Once cooked, I topped them with the jam, avocado and lettuce. Paired with a salad and some fries on the side, it made a hearty weeknight meal. This savory jam had the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess, definitely the star of the dish!

Watermelon Jelly Waffles

I love a slow, weekend morning. The relaxing feeling of enjoying breakfast and coffee on the couch with no where to rush to. I had seen a few recipe ideas online of how to use a sweet jelly like this, and the one that stood out to me was using it as a waffle topping. Sweet, simple and takes only minutes to prep. I used frozen, gluten free waffles that I popped in the toaster and topped them with the Watermelon Jelly as soon as they were done. The warmth of the waffle and the watermelon fresh flavor was an ideal breakfast for a cool fall morning. Paired with a cup of Vermont Coffee Company Medium Roast and you’ve got yourself a breakfast of champions.
