Cocktails & Mocktails

With summer coming to an end, it’s the perfect time to enjoy these refreshing cocktails (and mocktail!) with summer ingredients, like blueberry and lemon. They’re made with our Drink Mixers and Wild Maine Blueberry Syrup. We love making them for a crowd and serving in a drink dispenser!

Lemon Cucumber Agua Fresca – A refreshing flavor combo of lemon, cucumber and dill, topped with club soda to give this cocktail a light bubble.

Blueberry Mojito Mocktail – This mocktail is a great option for those wanting to skip the alcohol. A classic summer flavor combo of blueberry, lemon and a hint of mint that takes this cocktail to the next level! If you do want to add alcohol, white rum is my favorite in this one!

Appetizers

Once your guests have settled in with a drink in hand, serve them these delicious appetizers! Nothing says summer quite like crab cakes or tomatoes; let’s enjoy these foods while they last! These recipes call for our spice blends, aiolis and mustards!

Cajun Crab Cakes – Not your typical appetizer, these will totally impress your guests! They are incredibly flavorful thanks to our Cajun Street Spice Blend, but our aiolis knock this app out of the park! My favorite one to pair with these is the Lemon Herb Aioli.

BLT Bites – This bite sized app is cute, simple to make, and has bacon. These are destined to be a crowd pleaser, plus they can be made ahead of time. There is nothing to dislike about this app! An insiders take: these are also great as salad toppers, so not to just be enjoyed one weekend of the year!

Side Dishes!

Before we get to the main dishes, let’s gather up some flavor packed sides which (bonus points!) can all be made ahead of time. In fact, it is suggested so all the flavors have time to marry together and can be served cold.

Summer Grilled Corn Salad – There is something about the combination of charred corn, pickled onions, and cotija cheese that scream summer barbecue. I’ve made this as a salad as the recipe calls, but also replaced the butter with ¼ cup mayo and served with tortilla chips as a dip!

Greek Pasta Salad – We can all agree that pasta salad is a barbecue staple. But not all pasta salads are created equal. What takes an amazing pasta salad from just an average pasta salad? The dressing. Our Classic Greek Dressing is just what your pasta salad needs!

Main Courses

Fire up that grill! It’s time to feed your guests their main course, and here are a couple of ideas that are cooked on the grill or in the oven!

BBQ Glazed Salmon with Fresh Peach Salsa and Creamy Avocado Lime Sauce – This isn’t your typical salmon recipe. This salmon is topped with our BBQ Glazed Salmon Seasoning, followed with a peach salsa and a creamy avocado lime sauce that cuts the sweetness with cream and acid. I like to make both toppings the day before and make the salmon just before serving.

Grilled Peach Salad with Chimichurri Steak – Nothing says summer quite like a grilled steak and peaches! Typically, Chimichurri sauce is its own step to make, but our Chimichurri Grille Sauce makes making this dish a breeze. Served alongside a salad loaded with grilled peaches, cherries and goat cheese, this dish hits all the flavor profiles. It tastes so luxurious!

Desserts

Drum roll, please… it’s time for dessert! There are too many amazing recipes in our catalog, but we highlighted those that are festive, use summer ingredients and would be perfect addition to a Labor Day barbecue.

Stars and Stripes Pie – A classic berry pie complete with an American flag topping design. I like to make this recipe with a store-bought dough to cut down on time, but it is just as delicious with a homemade dough!

Maine Blueberry Ice Cream – Impress your guests by making homemade ice cream! It is much simpler than one would imagine, this recipe only calls for 4 ingredients: cream, salt, sugar and Stonewall Kitchen Wild Maine Blueberry Jam. And the best part about this recipe is you can adapt it for any holiday! Just switch out the jam flavor!

From us at Stonewall Kitchen to you, wishing you a safe and happy Labor Day!
